There was a minor upset in Stabia where 7th ranked Empoli (10-10) was edged by ninth ranked Castellammare (10-10) 60-58 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 13 points after first quarter, but they rallied back getting tie in the second period and winning the second half and won the game by 2 points. Castellammare made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 28 Empoli turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Latvian forward Liga Vente (191-91, college: Eckerd) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 9 rebounds and forward Barbara Negri (184-86) who added 11 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Czech center Klara Pochobradska (186-89) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and guard Francesca Rosellini (176-90) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Castellammare moved-up to seventh place in A2. Castellammare will face Irpino (#11) in Ariano Irpino in the next round.
