Leader Al-Qazeres delivered the eighteenth victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed 8th ranked Arxil Pontevedra (9-10) 75-52. The game was mostly controlled by Al-Qazeres. Arxil Pontevedra managed to win fourth quarter 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Arxil Pontevedra to just 3 points in third quarter. Al-Qazeres forced 21 Arxil Pontevedra turnovers and outrebounded them 57-32 including a 34-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Al-Qazeres especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. It was a great evening for Senegalese center Marieme Cisse (196-95, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Julie Forster (185-91, college: Albany) helped adding 11 points and 15 rebounds. Four Al-Qazeres players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Cristina Diaz (182-93) responded with 7 points and 6 rebounds and Argentinian Estefania Lopez scored 11 points. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Al-Qazeres. They maintain first place in Group A with 18-1 record. Arxil Pontevedra lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. Al-Qazeres will meet at home league's second-placed GDKO Bizkaia in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Arxil Pontevedra will play against Oviedo (#13) and hope to secure a win.
