There was no surprise when 10th ranked Cartagena (2-16) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Valencia-2 (12-6) 92-82 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Valencia-2. Cartagena was better in second period 21-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Guard Adria Duch (185-95) fired 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Miguel Martinez (183-95) chipped in 15 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Valencia-2's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Mercury Fiske (186, college: Mitchell) produced 21 points and 4 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and forward Alberto Ballesta (202-95) added 14 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Valencia-2 maintains fourth place in Group E with 12-6 record. Cartagena lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 16 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
