Regular Season Round 22: Capitalinos - Villa Clara 75-51

LSB round 22 caused change at the leadership position. Sixth defeat of league's leader Villa Clara (14-6) against third ranked Capitalinos (12-6) 75-51 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Villa Clara. Capitalinos had a 29-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Villa Clara's players. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Arlen Alorda (198-86) who helped to win the game recording 10 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Pedro Roque (187-95) contributed with 9 points, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Osvaldo Perez replied with 15 points and 5 rebounds and international center Yoel Cubillas (204-94) added 4 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Villa Clara. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains third position with 12-6 record having just one point less than leader Ciego de Avila. Villa Clara at the other side dropped to the second place with six games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Ciego de Avila. Villa Clara will play next round against Los Toros trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Capitalinos will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Tigres in Camaguey.
