Not a big story in a game in Tel-Aviv where 4th ranked Ironi Nahariya (11-10) was defeated by second ranked Maccabi T-A (14-6) 78-66 on Sunday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Maccabi T-A made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was naturalized American swingman Sylven Landesberg (198-90, college: Virginia) who scored 26 points. American-Montenegrin point guard Taylor Rochestie (185-85, college: Washington St.) chipped in 14 points and 4 assists. Maccabi T-A's coach Zan Tabak used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American swingman Cameron Clark (201-91, college: Oklahoma) produced 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import Richard Howell (203-90, college: N.Carolina St.) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Ironi Nahariya players scored in double figures. Maccabi T-A maintains second position with 14-6 record behind leader Hapoel J-M. Ironi Nahariya at the other side dropped to the fifth place with ten games lost. Maccabi T-A will face Hapoel Eilat (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Ironi Nahariya will play against Ironi Nes-Ziona and hope to win that game.
