There was no surprise in Madrid where 14th ranked Getafe (2-17) was defeated by fourth ranked Fontedoso Carrefour (13-6) 76-63. Getafe was ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 42-25 second half run of Fontedoso Carrefour. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Carles Marzo (190-92, agency: Duran International) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 4 assists. Point guard Alvaro Lobo (192-92, agency: Duran International) accounted for 14 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Lobo is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Power forward Antoni Vicens (203-90) came up with 21 points and 9 rebounds and American-Haitian Marvin Dominique (201-91, college: St.Peter's, agency: Duran International) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Getafe in the defeat. Getafe's coach Armando Gomez tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Fontedoso Carrefour moved-up to second place, which they share with Sammic ISB and Araberri. Getafe lost their tenth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. Fontedoso Carrefour's next round opponent will be Cambados (#12) at home and are hoping to win another game. Getafe will play against the league's leader Marin and hope to win that game.
