Regular Season Round 40: Iwate Big Bulls - Yokohama BC 88-67

Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Iwate Big Bulls (19-15) outplayed at home 8th ranked Yokohama BC (16-20) 88-67 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 15-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 88-67. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Iwate Big Bulls made 7 blocks. It was a very good performance for Nigerian forward Abdullahi Kuso (206-84, college: Tallahassee CC) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 21 rebounds and 5 blocks. American forward Alandise Harris (198-90, college: Arkansas) contributed with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Iwate Big Bulls' coach Geoffrey Katsuhisa felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Carl Hall (203-89, college: Wichita St.) replied with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks and his fellow American import forward Cory Johnson (200-88, college: Valparaiso) added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Yokohama BC. Four Iwate Big Bulls and five Yokohama BC players scored in double figures. Iwate Big Bulls have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 19-15 record. Yokohama BC lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 20 games lost. Iwate Big Bulls will face Aomori Watts (#10) on the road in the next round. Yokohama BC will play against Saitama Broncos and hope to win that game.
