Very predictable result when second ranked Agrigento (15-8) won against at home 13th ranked Rieti (9-14) 84-72 on Sunday. Rieti was trailing by 7 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 25-11 charge of Agrigento, which allowed them to win the game. Guard Andrea Saccaggi (191-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points. American power forward Scott Eatherton (206-91, college: Northeastern, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Agrigento players scored in double figures. American Dalton Pepper (196-90, college: Temple) answered with 28 points and 4 assists and naturalized American power forward Cristopher Mortellaro (207-82, college: Drury) added 16 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Rieti. Agrigento maintains second place in A2 with 15-8 record having just two points less than leader Scafati. Newly promoted Rieti keeps the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. Agrigento will face Mens Sana Siena (#6) on the road in the next round. Rieti will play against the league's leader Scafati (#1) and hope to win that game.
