No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Aris (15-5) beat on the road bottom-ranked Kavala (4-16) 77-71 on Sunday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-10. But Kavala won third quarter 24-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Aris forced 19 Kavala turnovers. American forward Okaro White (206-92, college: Florida St., agency: Comsport) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Spyros Mourtos (198-90) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Aris' coach Dimitris Priftis used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Belizean-American power forward Leon Williams (203-86, college: Ohio) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and American guard Lasan Kromah (198-91, college: Connecticut) added 19 points in the effort for Kavala. Five Kavala players scored in double figures. Aris have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 15-5 record. Kavala lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with 16 games lost. Aris will face higher ranked AEK Athens (#3) at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Kavala will play against the league's leader Olympiacos (#1) in Athens and hope to win that game.
