The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of CASLA (23-17) in Almagra on Monday night. Hosts were defeated by Olimpico de La Banda (26-12) 80-72. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of CASLA. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-72. Olimpico de La Banda made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. It was a good game for the former international Federico Van Lacke (191-80) who led his team to a victory with 27 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American power forward Justin Williams (206-84, college: Wyoming) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. American Josh Powell (206-83, college: N.Carolina St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and international guard Nicolas Aguirre (188-88) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for CASLA. Four Olimpico de La Banda and five CASLA players scored in double figures. CASLA's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Olimpico de La Banda maintains first position with 26-12 record which they share with defeated CASLA. Newly promoted CASLA still keeps top place with 17 games lost. Olimpico de La Banda will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. CASLA will play again at home against the league's leader Olimpico de La Banda and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
