Very predictable result when fourth ranked Hapoel Afula (14-5) defeated at home 12th ranked Hap.R/G Givat. (6-13) 79-66. It was an exceptional evening for Puerto Rican forward Gilberto Clavell (200-89, college: Sam Houston St., agency: Inception Sports) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Noam Matalon (197-87, agency: Avi Zilberman) accounted for 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. American center Derrick Caracter (206-88, college: UTEP) came up with 22 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard Roburt Sallie (196-86, college: Memphis, agency: Blacktop Management) added 11 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for Hap.R/G Givat. in the defeat. Hapoel Afula moved-up to second place, which they share with Ironi K-A and Hapoel B/S. Hap.R/G Givat. lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eleventh position with 13 games lost. They share it with Hapoel Kazrin and Elitzur Yavne. Hapoel Afula will play against Hapoel Migd.H. (#10) in Tarshicha in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hap.R/G Givat. will play at home against Hapoel Kazrin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
