Regular Season Round 29: Bisons Loimaa - Helsinki Seagulls 72-105

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Loimaan Korikonkarit (17-11) against sixth ranked Helsinki Seagulls (14-15) on Tuesday night. Host Loimaan Korikonkarit was crushed by Helsinki Seagulls in Loimaa 105-72. The game was mostly controlled by Helsinki Seagulls. Loimaan Korikonkarit was better in third quarter 25-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Helsinki Seagulls forced 19 Loimaan Korikonkarit turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. American guard Jason Conley (196-81, college: Missouri, agency: Warren Sports International) nailed 24 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Terrence Watson (200-87, college: Ball St., agency: Octagon Europe) accounted for 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Conley is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Helsinki Seagulls players scored in double figures. Coach Mikko Larkas's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. International Tuukka Kotti (205-81, college: Providence) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and international Mikko Koivisto (194-87, college: NC-Greensboro) added 11 points respectively for Loimaan Korikonkarit in the defeat. Helsinki Seagulls moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Pyrinto. Loimaan Korikonkarit at the other side dropped to the third position with 11 games lost. Helsinki Seagulls will play against higher ranked Kouvot (#4) in Kouvola in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Loimaan Korikonkarit will play on the road against the league's leader Joensuun Kataja and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
