Very predictable result when seventh ranked Pinheiros (12-11) won against bottom-ranked Macae (5-17) in Sao Paolo 92-87. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Pinheiros forced 19 Macae turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Desmond Holloway (191-90, college: Co.Carolina) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 14 rebounds and forward Lucas Dias Silva (209-95) who added 16 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Pinheiros players scored in double figures. Pinheiros' coach Cesar Guidetti allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was the former international Andre Bresolin (195-87) with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Eddy Carvalho (196-87) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Pinheiros have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain seventh position with 12-11 record. Macae at the other side stay at the bottom place with 17 games lost. Pinheiros will play against league's leader Flamengo in Rio de Janeiro in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Macae will play on the road against Caxias do Sul (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
