Regular Season Round 19: Ironi K-A - Hapoel K/S 60-63

The most exciting game of round 19 in the National League took place in Kiryat Ata. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of much higher ranked Ironi Kiryat Ata (14-5) to eighth ranked Hapoel Kfar Saba (8-11) 63-60 on Tuesday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Ironi Kiryat Ata. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Hapoel Kfar Saba made 8 blocks. It was a great evening for American guard Vernon Teel (193-87, college: Loyola Mary) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds. Point guard Adi Cohen (178-93) helped adding 17 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Julien Mills (193-85, college: Ball St., agency: HMS) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import power forward Dallis Joyner (203-90, college: Stony Brook) scored 8 points and 9 rebounds. Hapoel Kfar Saba maintains eighth place with 8-11 record, which they share with Ramat Hasharon. Ironi Kiryat Ata at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. They share it with Hapoel B/S and Hapoel G/A. Hapoel Kfar Saba is looking forward to face Hasharon (#9) in Ramat Hasharon in the next round. Ironi Kiryat Ata will play on the road against the league's leader Galil Gilboa (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
