Regular Season Round 23: Guantanamo - Ciego de Avila 73-72

There was a change at the LSB leadership position after last games. Round 23 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Ciego (14-4). They were edged by fourth ranked Guantanamo (10-10) 73-72 on Tuesday night. It ended at the same time the 11-game winning streak of Ciego. It was a great evening for the former international swingman Yoannis Soria (195-86) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Yuset Tito (197-92) helped adding 12 points and 10 rebounds. The former international point guard Yasser Rodriguez (187-88) responded with 27 points and 4 assists and guard Ricardo Oviedo (193-89) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Guantanamo have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 10-10 record. Ciego at the other side dropped to the second position with four games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Villa Clara. Ciego will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Guantanamo will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Ciego in Avila.
