Regular Season Round 19: Hapoel B/S - Elitzur Yavne 77-72

Very expected game in Beer Sheva where 13th ranked Elitzur Yavne (6-13) was defeated by third ranked Hapoel B/S (14-5) 77-72. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Keith Clanton (205-90, college: Cent.Florida) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Anton Shoutvin (206-89) accounted for 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Four Hapoel B/S players scored in double figures. American Chris Gaston (201-89, college: Fordham) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard Brandon Wood (187-89, college: Michigan St.) added 22 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Elitzur Yavne in the defeat. Hapoel B/S have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Ironi K-A and Hapoel G/A. Elitzur Yavne lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with 13 games lost. They share it with Hap.R/G Givat. and Hapoel Kazrin. Hapoel B/S will play against Hasharon (#7) in Hod Hasharon in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Elitzur Yavne will play at home against Ironi Ramat Gan (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
