Regular Season Round 55: Penarol - Lanus 100-87

Very expected game in Mar del Plata where 9th ranked Lanus (14-25) was defeated by fourth ranked Penarol (20-15) 100-87 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Penarol. Lanus was better in second period 26-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Lanus' players. Lanus was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for international swingman Nicolas Brussino (200-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Roberto Acuna (204-90) helped adding 19 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). At the losing side American swingman Rodney Green (196-88, college: La Salle) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and Italian guard Pablo Bertone (193-90, college: Florida Atlantic, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) scored 19 points. Four Penarol and five Lanus players scored in double figures. Penarol maintains fourth place with 20-15 record. Lanus lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with 25 games lost. Penarol will face league's second-placed Libertad Sunchales at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
