Important game to mention about took place in Guantanamo. Fourth ranked Guantanamo (11-10) saved a 1-point victory at home edging second-best Ciego (14-5) 73-72 on Wednesday evening. They outrebounded Ciego 32-21 including a 23-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Guantanamo especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. It was a good game for the former international swingman Yoannis Soria (195-86) who saved his team from a defeat with 28 points. Guard Raudelis Guerra (191-93) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. The former international point guard Yasser Rodriguez (187-88) replied with 31 points and guard Ricardo Oviedo (193-89) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Ciego. Ciego's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Guantanamo have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 11-10 record. Ciego at the other side keeps the second place with five games lost. Guantanamo will play against Los Toros (#6) in Artemisa in the next round. Ciego will play on the road against Tigres (#7) in Camaguey and hopes to get back on the winning track.
