There was no surprise in La Habana where 6th ranked Tigres (7-14) were defeated by third ranked Capitalinos (14-6) 57-46 on Wednesday. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Hector Martinto (197-94) who helped to win the game recording 8 points and 6 rebounds and Freddy Marin who added 6 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Salvadorean Yordanis Jaca with 15 points and 9 rebounds and Yoanqui Mersia scored 13 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Capitalinos have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains third position with 14-6 record having 2 victories less than leader Villa Clara. Tigres lost eighth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with 14 games lost. Capitalinos will meet bottom-ranked Santiago (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Tigres will play against the league's second-placed Ciego and hope to secure a win.
