Date: February 24, 2016
There was no surprise in Cordoba where 7th ranked Comunicaciones (8-21) was crushed by third ranked Barrio Parque (16-13) 99-78 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Barrio Parque. Comunicaciones was better in fourth quarter 32-28. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Barrio Parque looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Tomas Ligorria (197-94) who scored 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Point guard Fernando Titarelli (183-82) chipped in 10 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Barrio Parque players scored in double figures. Naturalized Paraguayan forward Jose Fabio (200-77) produced 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and forward Alejandro Peralta (195-91) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Barrio Parque have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 16-13 record having eight points less than leader Platense. Comunicaciones lost tenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh position with 21 games lost. Barrio Parque will have a break next round. Comunicaciones will play at home against UNCAus (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
