Regular Season Round 29: Bisons Loimaa - BC Nokia 66-96

The game between second ranked Loimaan Korikonkarit (17-11) and eighth ranked BC Nokia (11-18) was the most important one in the last round on Thursday night. Loimaan Korikonkarit was crushed by BC Nokia in Loimaa 96-66. The game without a history. BC Nokia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. BC Nokia outrebounded Loimaan Korikonkarit 46-28 including 32 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Serbian power forward Dragan Labovic (207-87, agency: Interperformances) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners and American forward David Kravish (208-92, college: California) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. Four BC Nokia players scored in double figures. BC Nokia's coach Oliver Vidin felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international forward Ville Makalainen (194-85) responded with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and American point guard P.J. Hill Jr. (182-87, college: Ohio St., agency: Octagon Europe) scored 18 points and 5 assists. Newly promoted BC Nokia maintains eighth place with 11-18 record. Loimaan Korikonkarit at the other side dropped to the third position with 11 games lost. BC Nokia are looking forward to face higher ranked Salon Vilpas (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Loimaan Korikonkarit will play against the league's leader Joensuun Kataja (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
