The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked Guaiqueries' (10-10) home victory over 6th ranked Trotamundos (9-12) in Porlamar 81-76. Guaiqueries brought some defensive toughness making 12 blocks. It was a great evening for Dominican Victor Liz (188-86) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Jezreel De Jesus (185-91) helped adding 18 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was American Musa Abdul-Aleem (196-88, college: Troy) with 19 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import Robert Glenn (203-89, college: IUPUI) scored 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Trotamundos players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Guaiqueries maintains fifth place with 10-10 record. Trotamundos lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 12 games lost. Guaiqueries will play against league's second-placed Bucaneros in La Guaira in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Trotamundos will have a break next round.
