Regular Season Round 11: Al Riyadi - Louaize 81-80

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Al Riyadi as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Al Riyadi edged 8th ranked Louaize in Beirut 81-80. Al Riyadi made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was the former international swingman Fadi Khatib (199-79) who scored 33 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Naturalized Egyptian power forward Ahmad Ismail (205-76) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Geron Johnson (190-92, college: Memphis) produced 23 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import forward Alex Okafor (202-87, college: Princeton) added 23 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Newly promoted Louaize keeps the eighth place with eight games lost. Louaize will play next round against strong Homenetmen trying to get back on the winning streak. Al Riyadi will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Hoops Club. It will be extra interesting game as Hoops Club is their local rival from Beirut.
