Regular Season Round 23: Burgos - Palma 77-67

Rather expected game when 9th ranked Palma (11-12) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Burgos (13-10) 77-67. The game was mostly controlled by Burgos. Palma was better in third quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for Croatian power forward Filip Toncinic (212-84, college: Texas A&M-CC) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Austrian Anton Maresch (191-91, agency: Octagon Europe) accounted for 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Five Burgos players scored in double figures. Point guard Mikel Uriz (182-89) came up with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Portuguese center Claudio Fonseca (206-89) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Palma in the defeat. Palma's coach Xavi Sastre tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Burgos moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Penas Huesca. Palma lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with 12 games lost. Burgos' next round opponent will be Ourense (#12) at home and are hoping to win another game. Palma will play against Castello and hope to win that game.
