Regular Season Round 30: Ammerud Bskt - Nidaros Jets 91-87

BLNO top team - Ammerud Bskt (16-3) added another victory to their record on Friday. This time they beat ninth ranked Nidaros Jets (5-13) in Oslo 91-87. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Nidaros Jets won fourth quarter 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ammerud Bskt looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Somalian point guard Zaki Ise Mohamed (183-87, college: New Hampshire) who scored 23 points. American forward Ronald Timus (196-84, college: Morgan St.) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds. Mohamed is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Ammerud Bskt's coach Kelvin Woods used entire bench in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Kenyan Earl Simba (204-92) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 19 rebounds and forward Petter Gullhav Wanvik (194-89) added 22 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ammerud Bskt have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 16-3 record. Nidaros Jets lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 13 games lost. Ammerud Bskt will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Nidaros Jets will play against the league's second-placed Centrum (#2) in Oslo and hope to secure a win.
