Very expected game in Salvador where 14th ranked Universo/Vitoria (6-17) was defeated by ninth ranked Rio Claro (12-13) 79-67 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Rio Claro. Universo/Vitoria managed to win second period 14-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Center Atilio de Mello (203-82) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Guilherme Pereira (190-91) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Five Rio Claro players scored in double figures. Ghanian guard Kojo Mensah (185-85, college: Buffalo St.) produced 17 points and 8 rebounds and Spanish Alvaro Calvo (202-83, agency: Dynamics Global Management) added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side.
