Regular Season Round 12: Sagesse - Champville 89-93
Date: February 26, 2016
Bottom-ranked Champville managed to get a second victory, breaking the seven-game losing streak on Friday night. This time they won against seventh-ranked Sagesse in Beirut 93-89. The guests trailed by 14 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 4 points. The winners were led by Palestinian center Sani Sakakini (204-88) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and Georgian power forward Nikoloz Tskitishvili (212-83, agency: Interperformances) supported him with 24 points and 8 rebounds. Four Champville players scored in double figures. Champville's coach Ghassan Sarkis used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 42 points (!!!) by American guard Terrell Stoglin (185-91, college: Maryland) did not help to save the game for Sagesse. Bosnian-Serbian center Ratko Varda (212-79, agency: Beo Basket) added 18 points and 11 rebounds. Champville maintains ninth position with 2-9 record. Loser Sagesse keeps the seventh place with seven games lost. Champville will meet at home higher ranked Al Moutahed (#4) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Sagesse will play against Byblos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
