Regular Season Round 25: Guantanamo - Artemisa 64-74

There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Los Toros (9-14) beat on the road 4th placed Guantanamo (11-11) 74-64. Los Toros forced 19 Guantanamo turnovers. Swingman Joice Daudinot (194-85) stepped up and scored 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and the former international center Humberto Garcia (203-85) chipped in 8 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side swingman Elvis Pons (194-83) responded with 26 points and 7 rebounds and guard Raudelis Guerra (191-93) scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. Los Toros moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Pinar del Rio. Guantanamo at the other side keeps the fourth position with 11 games lost. Los Toros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Guantanamo will play again at home against Los Toros (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
