Second Stage Round 4: Heffingen - BC Mess 105-75
Date: February 26, 2016
The game between closely ranked teams ended with one of their biggest challengers BC Mess' (15-8) road loss to second ranked Heffingen (7-16) 75-105 on Friday. The game without a history. Heffingen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Heffingen outrebounded BC Mess 43-22 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Heffingen especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by BC Mess' players. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Brad Reese (199-88, college: Texas Tech) who helped to win the game recording 38 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and the other American import Jalen Nesbitt (198, college: N.Florida, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who added 19 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Reese is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Heffingen players scored in double figures. At the losing side American swingman Elijah Bonsignore (198, college: S.New Hampshire, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Slovenian power forward Marko Vranjkovic (204-90) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Heffingen maintains second position in League with 7-16 record having just three points less than leader Residence. Newly promoted BC Mess keeps the third place with eight games lost. Heffingen will face league's second-placed Arantia in Larochette in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. BC Mess will play on the road against Soleuvre in Belvaux and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
