Very important is a road loss of second ranked Ciego (14-6) against seventh ranked Tigres (8-14) on Friday night. Visiting Ciego was defeated by Tigres in a tough game in Camaguey 67-72. Tigres forced 20 Ciego turnovers. Yoanqui Mersia stepped up and scored 23 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and Salvadorean Yordanis Jaca chipped in 6 points and 15 rebounds. Tigres' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side guard Dainier Martinez (184-96) responded with 26 points and 4 steals and center German Clark (206-95) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. Tigres maintains seventh place with 8-14 record. Ciego lost third consecutive game. They keep the second position with six games lost. They share it with Capitalinos. Tigres will again play against higher ranked Ciego (#3) in Avila in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ciego will have a break next round.
