The game in Malmo was also quite interesting. 5th ranked Sundsvall Dragons (15-13) played at the court of seventh ranked Malbas (12-16). Malbas managed to secure a 9-point victory 98-89 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 9 points after three quarters before their 40-22 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Malbas shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 66.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. American guard Darion Rackley (190-92, college: Jacksonville St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 29 points and 6 assists. The former international center Carl Engstrom (216-91, college: Alabama) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Icelandic power forward Hlynur Baeringsson (200-82) answered with 22 points and 7 rebounds and the former international point guard Charles Barton (193-92, college: Oregon St.) added 22 points and 5 assists in the effort for Sundsvall Dragons. Five Malbas and four Sundsvall Dragons players scored in double figures. Sundsvall Dragons' coach tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newly promoted Malbas maintains seventh place with 12-16 record, which they share with Uppsala. Sundsvall Dragons lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the fifth position with 13 games lost. Malbas will face KFUM Jamtland (#9) on the road in the next round. Sundsvall Dragons will play against Uppsala Basket (#8) and hope to win that game.
