Top ranked Catz Lappeenranta (20-2) recorded its second loss in Vimpeli on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by second ranked ViVe (15-5) 81-79. It ended at the same time the 18-game winning streak of Catz Lappeenranta. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Catz Lappeenranta won third quarter 21-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ViVe dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Catz Lappeenranta's 36. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Crystal Bradford (183-93, college: Cent.Michigan) who scored 24 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Alexyz Vaioletama (185-93, college: USC) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Chandrea Jones (177-87, college: Syracuse, agency: LBM Management) who recorded 32 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Chandra Harris (185-89, college: Georgia St.) added 16 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Four Catz Lappeenranta players scored in double figures. ViVe maintains second place with 15-5 record having seven points less than leader Catz. Defending champion Catz Lappeenranta still keeps top position with two games lost. ViVe are looking forward to face Aanekosken (#6) in Aanekoski in the next round. Catz Lappeenranta will play at home against Peli-Karhut (#8) and is hoping to win this game.
