Regular Season Round 21: Pordenone - Albino 55-53

A very close game took place in Pordenone between Pordenone and Albino. Eighth ranked Pordenone (10-11) got a very close home victory over 5th ranked Albino (11-10). Pordenone managed to escape with a 2-point win 55-53 on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 55-53. Pordenone forced 19 Albino turnovers. Giovanna Smorto (177-99) stepped up and scored 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and Israeli Elena Castello (182-98) chipped in 7 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was the former international center Elisa Silva (192-88, agency: LBM Management) with 10 points and 9 rebounds and guard Laura Fumagalli (178-85) scored 13 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Pordenone moved-up to seventh place in A2. Loser Albino keeps the fifth position with ten games lost. Pordenone will meet Scrivia (#12) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Albino will play against Costa Masnaga (#9) and hope to secure a win.
