Date: February 27, 2016
There was no surprise when 12th ranked Betanzos (2-13) was outplayed on the road by fourth ranked Mieres BVM (11-4) 80-61 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 45-21 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Tim Dezelski (198-90, college: Hillsdale, agency: Duran International) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and Brazilian point guard Luan Pereira Xavier (187-92) who added 24 points during the contest. Four Mieres BVM players scored in double figures. Center Marcos Rozas (202-83) responded with 20 points and 9 rebounds and Jose Miguel Perez (202-96) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Mieres BVM have a solid three-game winning streak.
