There was no surprise in Firenze where 16th ranked Moncalieri (3-20) was defeated by thirteenth ranked Fiorentina (9-15) 81-68 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Emanuele Di Giacomo (203-94) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds and forward Tommaso Bianchi (190-93) who added 17 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Five Fiorentina players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was swingman Leone Gioria (194-84) with 19 points and 4 assists and guard Antonio Fabrizio Smorto (192-95) scored 19 points. Moncalieri's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Fiorentina have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eleventh place in B. Moncalieri lost third consecutive game. Moncalieri at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the sixteenth position with 20 games lost. Fiorentina will face higher ranked Bergamo (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Moncalieri will play against Pavia (#12) and hope to win that game.
