Vasco Da G. (1-1) recorded a loss in Rio de Janeiro. Hosts were edged by Ginastico (1-1) in overtime 79-76. The guests were ahead by 5 points but lost the second period ending it with a 4-point deficit before their 18-14 run, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 12-9. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Frederico Lima (180-80) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 5 assists. Fabricio Russo (196-85) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Ginastico players scored in double figures. Ginastico's coach Jefferrson Teixeira allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Guard Marcellus Camara (190-88) answered with 19 points and 7 rebounds and American Robby Collum (185-81, college: W.Michigan) added 18 points in the effort for Vasco Da G.Ginastico will play against Campo Mourao in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Vasco Da G. will play against Sport R. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
