Regular Season Round 12: Homenetmen - Louaize 63-72

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Homenetmen (8-3) against eighth ranked Louaize (3-8) on Saturday night. Host Homenetmen was defeated by Louaize in a tough game in Beirut 63-72. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Homenetmen. It looked good early as Homenetmen took a 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Louaize had a 23-10 second period charge getting the lead and Homenetmen was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 63-72. Louaize forced 19 Homenetmen turnovers. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Geron Johnson (190-92, college: Memphis) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and center Wendell Lewis (208-89, college: Alabama St.) who added 22 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Dewayne Jackson (203-90, college: Morgan St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) with 21 points and 6 rebounds and forward Norvel Pelle (208-93, college: Iona) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. Newly promoted Louaize maintains eighth position with 3-8 record. Homenetmen at the other side keeps the second place with three games lost. Louaize will play against higher ranked Al Moutahed (#4) in Tripoli in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Homenetmen will have a break next round.
