Regular Season Round 29: Helsinki Seagulls - Kauhajoki 83-88

Rather predictable result when second ranked Kauhajoen Karhu (18-11) defeated on the road 6th ranked Helsinki Seagulls (14-15) 88-83 on Saturday. Helsinki Seagulls was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. It was a great shooting night for Kauhajoen Karhu especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. American swingman Cade Davis (197-88, college: Oklahoma, agency: Two Points) stepped up and scored 30 points for the winners and his fellow American import forward Lawrence Kinnard (203-86, college: UAB) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. The former international point guard Antto Nikkarinen (185-91, agency: Blacktop Management) responded with 17 points and 6 assists and American guard Jason Conley (196-81, college: Missouri, agency: Warren Sports International) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kauhajoen Karhu maintains second place with 18-11 record having four points less than leader Kataja Basket. Loser Helsinki Seagulls dropped to the fifth position with 15 games lost. Kauhajoen Karhu will have a break next round. Helsinki Seagulls will play on the road against Kouvot (#4) in Kouvola and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
