Rather expected game when 11th ranked Leuven Bears (2-16) were defeated on the road by ninth ranked VOO Verviers-Pepinster (6-12) 93-87 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. The best player for the winners was Australian swingman Ben Madgen (193-85, college: Augusta) who scored 28 points and 9 rebounds. American forward Vincent Bailey (198-91, college: Lincoln Memorial) chipped in 19 points. Austrian forward Enis Murati (194-88, agency: Octagon Europe) produced 22 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Andre Hollins (188-92, college: Minnesota, agency: Pensack Sports) added 17 points and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. VOO Verviers-Pepinster maintains ninth place with 6-12 record. Leuven Bears lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. VOO Verviers-Pepinster will meet league's second-placed Spirou Charleroi on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Leuven Bears will play against Kangoeroes (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
