Regular Season Round 31: Kongsberg - Froya Basket 85-83

The most exciting game of round 31 in the BLNO took place in Kongsberg. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Froya Basket (12-8) to third ranked Kongsberg (13-7) 85-83 on Saturday evening. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-12. But Froya Basket won second period 22-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kongsberg forced 21 Froya Basket turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Brandon Boggs (196-92, college: W.Carolina) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import guard Aareon Smith (193-93, college: Mo.-St.Louis) contributed with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Guard Ali Ouakkaha (187-90, college: Cuesta JC) answered with 21 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and American power forward Peter Bullock (198-82, college: Alaska-Anch.) added 15 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Froya Basket. Four Froya Basket players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Kongsberg maintains third place with 13-7 record having four points less than leader Ammerud Bskt, which they share with Tromso. Froya Basket at the other side keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. Kongsberg will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Froya Basket will play on the road against Eidsvoll (#11) in Oslo and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
