Regular Season Round 23: Oviedo - Forca Lleida 76-68

There was no surprise when 15th ranked Lleida Basquet (6-17) was defeated on the road by third ranked Oviedo CB (14-9) 76-68. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Lleida Basquet won third quarter 18-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Oviedo CB made 18-of-23 charity shots (78.3 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Lleida Basquet helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Ferran Bassas (183-92) who led the winners and scored 8 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Guard Andres Miso (198-83) accounted for 18 points for the winning side. Dominican-American forward Emmy Andujar (198-93, college: Manhattan) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and point guard Josep Perez (184-94) added 20 points respectively for Lleida Basquet in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Oviedo CB maintains third place with 14-9 record having five points less than leader Palencia. Lleida Basquet lost fifth consecutive game. Lleida Basquet at the other side dropped to the bottom position with 17 games lost. Oviedo CB's next round opponent will be league's leader Palencia Baloncesto on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lleida Basquet will play against Caceres Basket (#9) and hope to win that game.
