Very predictable result in Corugate where sixth ranked Alpo VR (10-11) outscored 11th ranked Carugate (8-13) 75-51 on Saturday. The game without a history. Alpo VR led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Carugate to just 6 points in first quarter. Alpo VR made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Bosnian Marina Dzinic (190-92) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds. Guard Anna Rossi (170-85) chipped in 12 points. Four Alpo VR players scored in double figures. Alpo VR's coach Nicola Soave felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Manuela Zanon (187-80) who recorded a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds and power forward Marta Scarsi (182-95) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Alpo VR maintains sixth place in A2 with 10-11 record. Loser Carugate keeps the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Alpo VR will face higher ranked Milano (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Carugate will play against Milano (#4) and hope to win that game.
