Very predictable result in Willebroek where fourth ranked Okapi Aalstar (11-7) defeated 10th ranked Kangoeroes (5-14) 89-82 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 43-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Okapi Aalstar made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Samoan-American power forward John Tofi (203-84, college: UTEP, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. The former international swingman Olivier Troisfontaines (192-89, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 24 points and 5 rebounds. Troisfontaines is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American Greg Mangano (208-89, college: Yale) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import forward Chris Eversley (201-91, college: Cal Poly - SLO, agency: N.E.T.) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Okapi Aalstar have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Loser Kangoeroes keep the tenth position with 14 games lost. Okapi Aalstar will meet Liege Basket (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Kangoeroes will play against Leuven Bears and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
