Regular Season Round 26: Camaguey - Ciego de Avila 69-55

The most important game in the last round took place in Camaguey between third ranked Ciego (14-7) and seventh ranked Tigres (9-14) on Saturday night. Ciego was defeated by Tigres on the road 69-55. Salvadorean Yordanis Jaca had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Yoanny Balde chipped in 15 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. Guard Ricardo Oviedo (193-89) responded with 17 points and 9 rebounds and guard Alfredo Hernandez (192-85) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tigres moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Pinar del Rio. Ciego lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the third position with seven games lost. Tigres is looking forward to face Pinar (#6) in Rio in the next round. Ciego will play on the road against the league's leader Villa Clara in Santa Clara and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
