Regular Season Round 21: Limoges - Chalon 88-94
Date: February 27, 2016
No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Chalon/Saor (14-7) beat on the road 11th ranked Limoges CSP Elite (10-11) 94-88 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 28-20. But Limoges CSP Elite won second period 27-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Chalon/Saor made 7 blocks. It was a good game for American swingman Jeremy Hazell (191-86, college: Seton Hall) who led his team to a victory with 23 points. His fellow American import point guard John Roberson (180-88, college: Texas Tech) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 assists for the winners. American forward Will Daniels (202-86, college: Rhode Island) answered with 16 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Leo Westermann (196-92, agency: Beo Basket) added 9 points, 11 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Limoges CSP Elite. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Chalon/Saor. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Gravelines and Le Mans. Defending champion Limoges CSP Elite dropped to the tenth position with 11 games lost. Chalon/Saor will face Sluc Nancy (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Limoges CSP Elite will play against JSF Nanterre and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
