Regular Season Round 17: Montbrison - Reims 56-72

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Montbrison (4-13) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Reims (9-8) 72-56. The game was mostly controlled by Reims. Montbrison was better in fourth quarter 19-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Reims dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Montbrison's 32. Reims forced 23 Montbrison turnovers. Sarah Ousfar (183-93) nailed 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and Serbian center Ana Radovic (190-90, agency: LBM Management) accounted for 13 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Cameroonian Amina Njonkou (185-88, college: Arizona) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and Emily Prugnieres (-97) added 9 points respectively for Montbrison in the defeat. Reims moved-up to fifth place, which they share with SIG. Montbrison lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with 13 games lost. Reims' next round opponent will be Limoges (#7) on the road. Montbrison will play against Roche in La Roche and hope to win that game.
