Regular Season Round 17: SIG - Tarbes 60-73

Leader Tarbes delivered the sixteenth victory. This time they beat 5th ranked SIG (9-8) 73-60 in llkirch-Graff.. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Tarbes's pressure prevailed and they won that period 20-14 extending their advantage to 13 points. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to SIG's 28. They outrebounded SIG 35-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. The former international center Elodie Bertal (191-84) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). American guard D'lesha Lloyd (179-86, college: Clemson, agency: Regeneracom Sports) contributed with 21 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Forward Darline NSoki (182-89) answered with 10 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian guard Ljiljana Tomasevic (174-88) added 9 points and 4 assists in the effort for SIG. SIG's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Tarbes (16-1) have an impressive series of sixteen victories in a row. They maintain first place. SIG lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with Reims. Tarbes will play against Avenir (#8) in Chartres in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SIG will play at home against Dunkerque and hopes to get back on the winning track.
