Regular Season Round 21: Unicaja - UCAM Murcia 79-90

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th ranked Unicaja Malaga (10-11) lost at home to ninth ranked UCAM Murcia (10-11) 90-79. It looked good early as Unicaja Malaga took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then UCAM Murcia had a 21-10 second period charge getting the lead and Unicaja Malaga was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 79-90. Unicaja Malaga was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. Argentinian point guard Facundo Campazzo (179-91) stepped up and scored 16 points and 8 assists for the winners and American-Dominican swingman Sadiel Rojas (193-89, college: Okla.Wesleyan) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Five UCAM Murcia players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was French Edwin Jackson (191-89, agency: Comsport) with 16 points and Serbian point guard Nemanja Nedovic (191-91, agency: Beo Basket) scored 8 points and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. UCAM Murcia moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Unicaja. UCAM Murcia will play against bottom-ranked Gipuzkoa (#18) in San Sebastian in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Unicaja Malaga will play on the road against the league's second-placed FC Barcelona (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
