Regular Season Round 42: Tokyo Cinq R. - Akita NH 88-103

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Akita Happinets (25-11) defeated on the road 12th ranked Tokyo Cinq R. (1-35) 103-88. The game was mostly controlled by Akita Happinets. Tokyo Cinq R. was better in fourth quarter 25-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Tokyo Cinq R. 43-31 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Akita Happinets shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. 24 personal fouls committed by Tokyo Cinq R. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The game was dominated by American players. Swingman Richard Roby (198-85, agency: CGL Sports) notched a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and forward Ray Turner (206-90, college: Texas A&M) supported him with 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. They keep the twelfth position with 35 games lost. Akita Happinets' next round opponent will be Shinshu BW (#7) in Nagano where they are favorite. Tokyo Cinq R. will play on the road against Toyama Grouses (#4) and hope to win that game.
