Regular Season Round 21: San Salvatore - Broni 53-83

Very expected game when 10th ranked San Salvatore (8-13) was rolled over at home by leader Broni (22-0) 83-53 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Broni. San Salvatore was better in second period 16-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Broni dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to San Salvatore's 28. Broni forced 22 San Salvatore turnovers and outrebounded them 48-25 including a 33-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was guard Enrica Pavia (176-89) who scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Virginia Galbiati (173-92, agency: SPORTlab Agency) chipped in 24 points and 4 steals. Four Broni players scored in double figures. Broni's coach Roberto Sacchi felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Slovenian power forward Ana Ljubenovic (185-88) who recorded 11 points and 8 rebounds and guard Roberta Di Gregorio (172-90) added 15 points respectively. Broni maintains first place in A2 with 22-0 record. Loser San Salvatore keeps the tenth position with 13 games lost. Broni will face league's second-placed Team Crema at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. San Salvatore will play against Albino (#5) and hope to win that game.
